Las Vegas, NV (October 26, 2018) New Location, New Networking Events, New Extended Exhibit Hall Hours
The 2018 International Fastener Expo (IFE), the largest industrial fastener show in North America, will take place on Oct. 30-Nov. 1, 2018 at its new location, Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Bayside B & C, in Las Vegas, NV. IFE 2018 features new special event locations, more opportunities to network with old and new friends, and new exhibit hall hours for its more than 5,000 attendees and 850 exhibiting companies to do business all in one place.

For its first year, IFE’s Machinery & Tooling and SourceGlobal exhibit hall pavilions will open a half-day early for exhibitors and attendees to preview on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 1 p.m.-4 p.m., followed by regular full day hours on Wednesday, Oct. 31 and Thursday, Nov. 1.
Day one conference program will begin on Tuesday with a workshop on investing in professional development, presented by the Fastener Training Institute, education sessions on leadership, management, and navigating the fastener industry, closing with two highly-anticipated sessions on Prop 65 and the U.S. administration’s trade policy.
“PROP 65: It’s Not About Labels and It’s Not About Chemicals – It’s About Not Getting Sued,” presented by Carmen Vertullo and Rob LaPointe, AIM Testing Laboratory, will give attendees essential information on California’s pressing initiative and how it effects the products they sell, including how and when to use Prop 65 warnings. The 90-minute program will be followed by questions and answers, 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m., on the third floor, South Seas G. A registration fee of $50 is required.
“U.S. Tariffs and Trade Policies – What to Expect in 2019,” presented by Vanessa Sciarra, vice president for legal affairs and trade and investment policy, National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC), 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on the third floor, South Seas I, will explain the current administration’s trade policy, including tariffs being implemented under Sections 232 and 301.
Following a full day of education sessions on Tuesday, guests will officially kick off IFE at the annual Welcome Reception, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at its new location, Daylight Beach Club, Mandalay Bay. The reception will feature an open bar for the first 900 attendees, light appetizers, and entertainment of taiko drummers, hula dancers, and a live DJ. For their significant and enduring contributions to the fastener industry, the IFE Awards Ceremony will recognize this year’s inductees and winners of the prestigious Hall of Fame and Young Fastener Professional of the Year on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Sessions Corner area on the show floor. Three event highlights will take place at the Beer Garden on the show floor, Booth #1175, on Thursday, Nov. 1 – the Young Fastener Professionals-hosted speed networking event, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., and complimentary drinks at Happy Hour, 1:30 p.m.-2 p.m. Attendees will also have a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card and one-of-a-kind barstools, courtesy of Parker Fasteners, booth #3339, by entering two giveaways with winners to be announced at the Beer Garden at 2 p.m. Displayed on the show floor will be the 2018 Karma Revero luxury electric car (MSRP: $130,000), where attendees will have a chance to win $1000, courtesy of Karma Automotive (www.karmaautomotive.com).
