Los Angeles, CA (August 17, 2018) – The International Fastener Expo (IFE) has announced the winners of the 2018 Young Fastener Professional Award. Each year, The Young Fastener Professional of the Year award recognizes and honors a young professional who has made significant contributions to the fastener industry. This year’s award recipients, Peggy Hsieh and Jun Xu, were chosen by Fastener Industry Coalition (FIC) based on their professional careers, use of technology to reduce costs, empowerment to their employees, and their commitment to furthering the Fastener industry development in multiple areas of business.
The first award recipient, Jun Xu, is the President of Brighton-Best International (BBI), where he is responsible for the strategy and purchasing for all of BBI’s locations across six countries. Through his leadership and direction, BBI’s purpose and role in the fastener industry has been transformed from selling products to focusing on how to help the distributor grow and succeed. Every new initiative or service, from the Fastener 101 educational seminars to the new tool and consumable product lines, has been brought in to support this initiative. Jun not only provides the strategic focus within BBI but also serves as a Board of Director member of the NFDA. Jun started work at BBI in 2008.
The second award recipient, Peggy Hsieh, is the Chief Operating Officer of Brighton-Best International. Peggy oversees the Operations and IT functions of all 32 BBI branches across six countries. Prior to joining BBI, she worked at McKinsey & Company in New York, and also in Private Equity at Bank of America in Charlotte. Peggy received a Master’s in Finance from London Business School and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. Peggy has been awarded the 2017 Women in Business Award courtesy of Women in the Fastener Industry. Jun and Peggy are married and have worked together for over 10 years.
About The 2018 Awards
IFE recognizes up-and-coming leaders under 40 years old who enhance industry awareness and promote the fastener industry to the business community. Nominees are reviewed by the Fastener Industry Coalition, comprised of thirteen North American regional and national fastener associations concerned with the distribution, manufacture, and importation of fasteners as well as services to the fastener industry. The Young Fastener Professional of the Year Award identifies young visionaries who bring people together, have an unimpeachable record of integrity and respect, and demonstrate innovative leadership skills. This year’s winners of the award exemplify how innovation and business development together can push the market change to success.
This year’s inductees will be recognized during the show’s annual IFE Awards Ceremony, located on the show floor at the Sessions Corner stage on Wednesday, October 30, 2018 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The award ceremony will be open to all attendees and exhibitors.
